DOT revises weekend detour for Skagit bridge due to cycling event

Washington Department of Transportation officials said Friday, June 14 they are revising the southbound alternate route for Interstate 5 in Mount Vernon and Burlington this weekend due to several large community events. Drivers should expect extra delays.

The annual Ride to Conquer Cancer, a two-day charity ride from Surrey, B.C., to the Seattle area, will draw up to 3,000 cyclists through the area. And Burlington is hosting its 76th annual Berry Dairy Days on Saturday and Sunday.
