'Corktown' play a mobile experience at WWU

"Corktown," a new play by Jeff Augustin, follows the gentrification of one of the oldest neighborhoods in Detroit from 2007 to 2034. The play features live music, gospel songs, poetic text, eccentric characters, mature language, humor, and performer- and audience-shared space, with Detroit as its protagonist.

Western Washington University's commission of "Corktown" is Augustin's first, but he has already received his second from one of the most prestigious new works theaters in NYC, the Manhattan Theatre Club.
