Century-old WWU time capsule remains a mystery

After sitting in the ground for 100 years, the mystery of just what's inside Western Washington University's first time capsule will last a bit longer, after university workers attempted to unearth the capsule Friday afternoon, Feb. 3.
Anthropology professors, university representatives and more than 50 students gathered to watch as WWU grounds crews pried up the bricks around the 1912 plaque on the university's Memory Walk in front of Old Main.
