Candidate for Bellingham school superintendent drops out

"One of Bellingham School District's two superintendent finalists dropped out of the race this weekend after accepting another job.

Steven Herzog, the interim superintendent of the Douglas County School District in Castle Rock, Colo., has accepted a superintendent position in the San Francisco area.

The remaining finalist, Gregory Baker, deputy superintendent of the Portland Public Schools in Oregon, will be in the district today, Monday, March 29, touring facilities and speaking with students and staff. At 4 p.m., he will answer questions at a public forum in Bellingham High School's auditorium. Baker will answer questions from a four-person panel consisting of a student, parent, staff member and principal."
