Broad coalition forms to oppose looming higher ed cuts

University students, faculty and administrators, labor unions and businesses have come together this legislative session to form a broad coalition to oppose further cuts to higher-education funding.

Called the College Promise Coalition, the group says that the current proposed cuts to higher education would slash state support by 50 percent since 2008 funding levels.
