Boyd leads Vikings with fifth-place finish in men's 5,000 at UW Invitational

Western Washington University's Tanner Boyd finished fifth in the men's 5,000 with a time of 14 minutes, 58.84 seconds to lead the Vikings in first-day action Friday at the University of Washington Indoor Track & Field Invitational being held at Dempsey Indoor on the UW campus.

Final-day action begins at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at Dempsey Indoor.

Also competing in the 5,000 for WWU were Isaac Griffith, seventh in 15:02.45, and Cory Johnson, 11th in 15:19.01.
