Blue Horse exhibit honors WWU design leader Marvin Southcott

At the urging of his friends, my buddy Layne Southcott was inspired to have an exhibit of works by his dad, Marvin, who died in February.

Moving with his family to Bellingham from California in 1969, Marvin began developing an industrial design program for what was then Western Washington State College, in the arts and sciences department. Over the next 24 years, Marvin established one of the most successful industrial design programs in the country.
