Bellingham announces same-day permits on small building projects

"Looking to renovate a deck, replace a sink or add a dormer window to your home? Bellingham residents soon might qualify to get a permit right at the counter the same day they apply, thanks to a new city program.

Same-day permits are being issued for "simple, well-defined projects," according to a city news release, in an effort to shorten application turnaround time and save city staff time and other costs."
