A firsthand telling of the 'Oregon Story'

For the better part of two decades, Floyd McKay was a familiar face in Oregon households, first as a reporter and then as a news analyst for Portland television station KGW.

That position has a storied history in Oregon, as it was once occupied by Tom McCall, who went on to be governor.

Together with Bob Straub — a frequent ally and sometime rival who became governor himself — McCall helped shape the groundbreaking environmental changes that transformed the state and resulted in the “Oregon Story.”
