2010 fall WWU career fair hosts more employers wanting to hire

While the job market remains difficult, it's great to see some optimism from local and regional employers.

Last week I dropped in at Western Washington University's fall business career fair, held at the Wade King Student Recreation Center. Recruiters from a variety of companies set up booths and talked to students and members of the community about available job positions.

What was different about this job fair compared to the past couple of years was the enthusiasm from the recruiters. The 57 employers in attendance was up from 44 in the fall of 2009, said Aaron Ignac, assistant director of operations at Western's Career Services Center. He also noted more of the employers were looking to fill positions right now, along with internships.
