Internship and volunteer fair set for Oct. 24

Western Washington University students looking to gain work experience, build their resumes and develop their professional network can attend the Community Internship Fair from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Viking Union Multi-Purpose Room.

Students will be able to meet with more than 50 social-service organizations, government agencies and nonprofits to discuss full- and part-time internships.

Organized and sponsored by Western’s Career Services Center, this is the largest campus event dedicated to providing information about internship and volunteer opportunities in social justice, community service, environment, arts and government. Participating employers are seeking students from a broad array of majors including liberal arts, business, science, technology and more for full- and part-time internships. These internships offer an opportunity for students to gain professional skills while also making a contribution to the community.

Participating organizations include Allied Arts, North Cascades Institute, ARC of Whatcom County, Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, Student Conservation Association and many more.

Students can have their resumes reviewed by calling 360-650-3240 to make an appointment or sign up for the resume clinics scheduled between 3-5 p.m. on Oct. 22, Oct. 30 and Nov. 5.
