Information about faculty and staff retirements requested for recognition

Western Washington University staff and faculty members who are retiring during the period between July 1, 2009, and June 30, 2010, will be honored at a reception and dinner at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

Information is requested on retiring employees so that invitations can be mailed to them and their supervisors in a timely manner. By March 30, 2010, those with retiring faculty and staff members in their areas should e-mail the following information to Fran Maas at fran.maas@wwu.edu:

Retiree name
Retiree mailing address
Retiree phone number
Retirement date
Supervisor name

Certificates of recognition will be prepared for each retiree. WWU President Bruce Shepard asks that those submitting this information include succinct words of praise and appreciation characterizing the retiree. As these words will be included on the certificate, they should be limited to no more than 100. Words of appreciation should be submitted by April 13.
