Industrial Design Students to Showcase 'Remade: Kitchen' in Annual Exhibition Nov. 4

Western Washington University’s junior class Industrial Design studio will showcase a sustainable entrepreneurship exhibition “Remade: Kitchen!” from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4 at Ideal, 1227 Cornwall Ave., Bellingham.

The event is free and open to the public.

The annual ReMade challenge’s opening reception will be during Art Walk. In just a few weeks, each student designed their product, sourced all the materials, produced a limited edition run of 20 of the items, and created all packaging or branding for their piece.

The staff at Ideal provides guidance to the students during the process, sharing thoughts from a retail perspective as well as hosting the sale. Twelve students have designed products for the kitchen which have been created from recycled and repurposed materials.

The kitchen products will be available for purchase at Ideal from Nov. 4-18 while supplies last; this is the ninth year of the collaboration between WWU and Ideal.
