How likely are students to think they'll change majors?

This week's data snippet comes from the Office of Survey Research at Western Washington University comes from OSR's survey of students completing their second year at Western.

Among those students who have declared their major by the end of their sophomore year, 65 percent claimed they were very unlikely to change their major, while just 6 percent claimed they were “somewhat” or “very” likely to change majors.

In the past 10 years, 19.3 percent of students who declared their major by the end of their sophomore year ended up changing majors at least once prior to graduation.
