Honors program looking for seminar proposals

The Western Washington University Honors Program is accepting submissions of proposed honors seminars for the 2012-2013 academic year.

As many as six seminars may be available, each providing one .083 FTE position for one quarter.

Interested faculty members should submit descriptions of proposed seminars to the Honors Program, MS-9112, no later than 5 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1. E-mail submissions should be addressed to honors@wwu.edu.

Proposals should not exceed 500 words, but faculty are advised to include in addition syllabi, bibliographies or other attachments as appropriate. Faculty also must attach the numerical summary sheets from teaching evaluations for Honors courses previously taught or for classes with similar formats, i.e., small, discussion-based classes.

Those planning to submit a proposal are asked to inform their chair or dean, as appropriate, to allow their department or college to make plans in the event the seminar is accepted. Applicants should indicate any scheduling preferences, including quarter, days and hour.
