Harriet Spanel to speak at WWU Retirement Association luncheon Feb. 17

Former Washington state legislator Harriet Spanel will reminisce about her Olympia experiences during the Western Washington University Retirement Association's winter luncheon, set for Friday, Feb. 17, at Northwood Hall (3240 Northwest Ave. in Bellingham).

Spanel, a democrat, served the 40th District until 2008. She lives in Bellingham.

Social time starts at 11:30 a.m., and lunch will be served at 12:15 p.m. The cost is $15 for members and $18 for non-members. Pre-paid reservations are due Feb. 13. To reserve a space, send a check to Donna Rochon at 1505 Silver Beach Road, Bellingham, WA 98229.
