Graphic designer Eric Heiman to speak at WWU Dec. 3

Western Washington University’s Department of Design will present a talk with graphic designer Eric Heiman at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, in Fraser Hall Room 4.

The talk is free and open to the public.

Heiman received a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the California College of the Arts and a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. He is principal and co-founder of Volume Inc., a San Francisco-based firm which focuses on engaging people through its designed environments, books, films, print collateral, and web-based media. Volume has worked in a variety of industries and with a diverse range of clients including The California Academy of Sciences, ReadyMade magazine, Adobe, Sony, McSweeney's, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Mohawk Fine Papers, Chronicle Books, Heath Ceramics, The American Institute of Architects, and Microsoft.

Volume’s work has been exhibited, honored, and published throughout the world. They have been featured by prominent organizations such as the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Museum of Craft + Design, Denver Museum of Art, Communication Arts, Graphis, Print Magazine, the Western Art Director’s Club, the German Design Council and the California Design Biennials.
