Grants available for faculty to attend international development seminars

Grants for $2,000 are available for Western Washington University faculty members to attend the International Faculty Development Seminars this summer.

The grants come from the Council on International Educational Exchange academic consortium, of which Western is a member.

The development seminars provide faculty and administrators with innovative approaches to enhance syllabi, internationalize curricula and increase global understanding on campus. This summer's seminars will be offered in the disciplines of architecture, environment, international relations, arts and humanities, social sciences, public health and business. The seminars are held in various countries, such as Ghana, Taiwan, Korea, Spain, Jordan, Turkey, Northern Ireland, Botswana, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and and Russia.

Seminar applicants must be first-time participants in the seminars. The online application contains detailed information about the application process, eligibility and pre-departure logistics.

The application deadline is March 1 for the summer 2014 seminars.
