From Western Libraries: New Longer Loan Period for Summit Items

Good news! The loan period for items borrowed through the Summit system has changed to twelve weeks, with an option to renew your borrowed materials for an additional six weeks!

Western Libraries is a member of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, which includes 38 libraries in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. The Alliance offers Western students, faculty, and staff access to its shared holdings in excess of 22.5 million. Recently, the Alliance doubled the allowable loan period for Summit items by extending it from six weeks to twelve, giving you access to what you need for even longer.

If you are in search of books and materials not available locally at Western Libraries, try ordering what you need through Summit. Submitting a Summit request is easy. First, search for the item you want in OneSearch, the Libraries’ online catalog, and then sign in to your library account with your universal login. Click on the "Request Using Summit Borrowing" option and follow the prompts to submit your request. Once the item arrives, we’ll notify you via email. Everything is linked to your library account so you can easily monitor the status of your Summit requests and their due dates, alongside all your other WWU materials.
