From the Archives: 'Facilities Management director chosen'

Vice President George Pierce has announced the appointment of Donald (Tim) Wynn, P.E., as director of Facilities Management. Wynn is scheduled to start July 2.

Wynn is currently commander/director of the Transatlantic Programs Center, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Previous positions include commander/director of the Seattle District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; director of public works, Northern Area, Korea; commander/director, Honolulu District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers; and assistant professor, Department of Physics, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.

Wynn holds a bachelor of arts in science degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a master’s in business administration from Long Island University, and a master of science degree in applied science from the University of California.

“Mr. Wynn was lauded by the Navy for ‘exemplary partnership and responsiveness,’” Pierce stated, “and I see him bringing the same attributes to Western. In addition, Mr. Wynn has an outstanding record in management, facility operations and maintenance, planning, design, contracting and execution of construction and service contracts.

“Mr. Wynn’s background, added to his solid credentials of managing facilities organizations, will be a great addition to the Facilities Management department, the Business and Financial Affairs division, and the University.”
