Free presentation on acupuncture scheduled for July 27

Tired of your body feeling like it's made out of a painful compound called cement? Do you feel neck, back, or lower-back pain?

Scott Paglia, a local acupuncturist, will speak at noon Friday, July 27, in Academic Instructional Center Room 302 in a free Lunch 'n' Learn presentation on the topic of acupuncture. The presentation is being sponsored by the Employee Wellness Program at Western Washington University.

Paglia's workshop will introduce acupuncture and explain how to promote blood flow to different body areas with simple exercises. He'll also talk about caring for the body and easing pain in problematic areas.

This workshop also will address the origins of pain – a combination of vascular and neurological inflammation – and explain how to effectively reprogram the body for health. After a presentation on how Chinese medicine works, Paglia will show a practical application of exercises.

Paglia is the clinic director of the Acupuncture Health Center in Bellingham. During the past twelve years his clinic has become one of the busiest natural health centers in the state. He has taught movement classes locally for a dozen years.

Registration is not required for this event. Bring a lunch if you wish, as this is a Lunch 'n' Learn.
