Forum raises more than $90,000 for student scholarships

A panel of tech experts, including Microsoft’s Julie Larson-Green (’86), keynoted the 18th Annual Western Washington University Leadership Forum on Friday, May 29, at the packed Marriott Waterfront Ballroom in downtown Seattle. A full house of 325 people attended the event.

The panel discussion, titled “The New Workplace – Big Data, Analytics, and Millenials,” was moderated by King 5’s Joyce Taylor (’84) and included Larson-Green, chief experience officer for Microsoft’s Applications and Services Group; Leslie Feinzag, vice president of Julep Beauty Inc.; Kieran Snyder, co-founder and CEO of textio; and Barry Steinglass, vice president of Client Software for Hulu.

To date, the event has raised more than $90,000 for student scholarships.

The WWU Foundation hosts the Leadership Forum each year, featuring a noted business leader as keynote speaker. This event brings together corporate and civic leaders, alumni, and parents and friends who are interested in the University and business trends, with all proceeds going towards WWU student scholarships.
