Flags to be lowered to half-staff in memory of State Sen. White

UPDATE: The service for Sen. Scott White will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, in the Meany Hall Theater on the University of Washington's Seattle campus. Flags should be returned to full-staff first thing Monday morning, Nov. 7.

Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that Washington state and United States flags at all Washington state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in memory of State Sen. Scott White, who passed away last week.

Flags should remain at half-staff until the memorial service for White is concluded. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
