Flags to be lowered April 15 in memory of President Lincoln's death

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has directed that Washington state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, April 15, for a Day of Remembrance for President Abraham Lincoln. President Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, and died on April 15.

Flags should remain at half-staff until the end of the day on April 15 or first thing Thursday morning, April 16.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
