Finalists for CHSS dean to visit campus for interviews

Four candidates for the open dean position in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences are coming to Western Washington University's Bellingham campus for interviews beginning Feb. 16.

Information about the finalists is listed below, along with the schedule for the forums open to the campus community. The finalists' curriculum vitae are available for review; to do so, contact Bev Jones in the Provost’s Office.

As this is an important university-wide leadership position, WWU Provost Brent Carbajal encourages active participation by the campus community.

Finalists:

  • Tom Ewing is the associate dean for Research, Graduate Studies and Diversity in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, in Miller Hall Room 152.
  • Wesley Chapin is the associate vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls in River Falls, Wisconsin. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in Bond Hall Room 109.
  • LeaAnn Martin is the dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Western Washington University in Bellingham. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, in Miller Hall Room 152.
  • Kimberly Greer is dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Minnesota State University – Mankato in Mankato, Minnesota. A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, March 3, in Bond Hall Room 109.
