Finalists for CBE dean to visit campus in April

Four strongly qualified candidates for the position of dean of the College of Business and Economics at Western Washington University have been invited to campus for interviews beginning April 15.

Information about the finalists is listed below, along with the schedule for the forums open to the campus community.

The finalists’ curriculum vitae are available for review; to see them please contact Bev Jones in the Provost’s Office. This is an important university-wide leadership position, and Provost Brent Carbajal encourages active participation by the campus community.

April 15 and 16: Yash P. Gupta, president & CEO of SDP Telecom, Inc., Dorval, Province of Quebec. Previous: dean and professor at Carey Business School, Johns Hopkins University.

A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in Parks Hall Room 441. 

April 17 and 18: Sanjay Putrevu, chair of the Council on Promotion and Continuing Appointments and professor of marketing at the School of Business at the University of Albany, SUNY, in Albany, New York.

A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, April 17, in PH 441. 

April 21 and 22: Jane Cote, academic director at the College of Business and associate professor of accounting at Washington State University, Vancouver, in Vancouver, Wash.

A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, April 21, in PH 441. 

April 24 and 25: Rajib N. Sanyal, dean of the Miller College of Business and professor of management at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.

A university-wide open forum presentation is scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, April 24, in PH 441.
