Feodorov wins Combined Fund Drive education and literacy contest

John Feodorov, an associate professor in Fairhaven College at Western Washington University, is the winner of the statewide Combined Fund Drive’s education and literacy contest.

Feodorov, a first-time CFD donor at Western, was selected among all state employees who made contributions in the month of October to a charity designated in the Education and Literacy category. KUOW radio is the beneficiary of his donation, and Feodorov is the recipient of a brand-new iPad.

"I can’t believe that I won. I didn’t even know when I made the donation that it was part of a contest," Feodorov said.

He cites his recent tenure as part of the reason for choosing to give now.

"My future feels more stable, and with that stability I wanted to give back," he said. "And it’s just so much more convenient to have it come out of payroll and spreading my donation over the year."

The Combined Fund Drive campaign runs until mid-December. Additional prize opportunities are available as part of the first-ever Holiday Gift Catalog. To learn more, visit www.cfd.wa.gov and begin making a difference today.
