Western Professor David Sattler to Discuss New Book Feb. 18 on Campus

Western Washington University Professor of Psychology David Sattler will share photographs from his book, “The Miracle of Life at La Jolla Cove,” and speak about his vision as a photographer and his passion for preserving lands for wildlife from 4-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 in Western Libraries Special Collections.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

An award-winning wildlife and nature photographer, Sattler will present a slideshow featuring color images of marine creatures and landscapes along La Jolla Cove near San Diego, California. Jane Goodall, the world renowned primatologist and conservationist best known for her landmark study on the behavior of wild chimpanzees in Gombe National Park in Tanzania, wrote the forward to Sattler’s book.

This event is being offered as part of the Western Libraries Reading Series, dedicated to showcasing the scholarly and creative work of Western Washington University faculty by featuring speakers from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines who are engaged in research, writing and teaching at Western.
