Financial Literacy Intelligence, a program by the Student Business Office to encourage financial wellbeing, is hosting a series of financial literacy events throughout April.

  • FLI is hosting an Information Booth on Old Main Lawn April 4, 5 and 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday's booth featured peer coaches to discuss financial topics -- and a visit from Dahlia the pig.
  • April 12, FLI will hold carnival games in the VU Multipurpose Room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • April 18, 19 and 20 will be a "Pig Rig,"  a spin off on the TV show "Cash Cab," where participants will answer questions for a chance to win a ride across campus and FLI dollars that can be redeemed for prizes. Watch for the rig between the Viking Union to the Student Recreation Center from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.
  • Finally, a Financial Literacy Fair featuring WWU departments and local vendors will be in the VU Multipurpose Room April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Financial Literacy Intelligence aims to improve students' knowledge of financial basics. The group focuses on teaching students and community members how to build credit, manage a budget, saving techniques, avoiding default, and navigating the plethora of loan repayment options that are available to them.
