Voting open for 2011 University Residences diversity poster

Voting is currently under way in the 14th annual Diversity Poster Contest, sponsored by University Residences at Western Washington University.

Current submissions are available for viewing online. Voting may be done online or in person in the Wilson Library Skybridge from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 10.

The theme for 2011 is "Diversity is a Community of Identities." Previous designs have included "Breaking Boxes, Building Bridges," "Identities are Infinite" and "Peeling Back Identity Labels." The 2010 design winner was a design about "Speaking Out about Diversity."

Each year, the overall winner's design is published by University Residences and displayed throughout campus. Past posters also are available for viewing online and for purchase.

The winning designs will be revealed at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in the lobby of the Performing Arts Center on campus.

Prizes for the winners include:

  • Grand Prize: $500 gift certificate to the Associated Students Bookstore
  • First Place: $200 gift certificate to the bookstore
  • Second Place: $100 gift certificate to the bookstore
  • Third Place: $50 gift certificate to the bookstore
