Then and Now: A photographic look at change

Curious how the Western Washington University campus has changed over the years?

We were, too, so we sent a student out last quarter to shoot current photos from the same spot as photos from the WWU archives. The result is this gallery of images on the WWU Facebook page.

Archive photos are courtesy of WWU Special Collections.

Current photos are by Dylan Koutsky an intern for WWU Communications and Marketing. Koutsky also scoured the archives for old photos and put this entire package of 28 then-and-now photo groupings together.

Any ideas for what photos we should compare next? Is there anything we left out? Let us know in the comments here or on Facebook.

The "Rain Forest" sculpture by James FitzGerald, shown here circa 1980, was installed in 1960 near Haggard Hall. It is now located near the Wade King Student Recreation Center on south campus. Photo at left courtesy of WWU Special Collections. Photo at ri
