Students to read stories of hope on MLK Day

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., children ages 3 to 8 are invited to Village Books in Bellingham from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, to hear stories about diversity, multiculturalism and the Civil Rights Movement.

Western Washington University's Center for Service-Learning and Village Books are co-sponsoring the 2015 MLK Day Read-In. Children will have the opportunity to learn about King's hope, determination and leadership through literature, dialogue and activities facilitated by Western student volunteers.

Western staff, faculty, and community members are encouraged to bring their children to this free event.
