Patriot Week runs through May 23 on campus

Patriot Week at Western Washington University, sponsored by the Associated Students Veterans Outreach Center, runs through May 23 on campus.

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 19: Memorial ribbon handout in Red Square. These are black remembrance ribbons for people to wear for the week.
  • 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22, VU552: Showing of “Lone Survivor,” based on actual events with SEAL Team 10 in Afghanistan. This event is free and open to the public.
  • All week, Old Main Lawn: VOC members have placed 146 flags on the lawn to represent the 146 Washington residents who have been killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
