Mulder is 'invaluable resource, trusted friend'

Carolyn Mulder, a lead teacher in Enrollment and Student Services at Western Washington University, is among the lates to be honored in the Western Way program at WWU.

"Carolyn exemplifies the highest standards in the field of Early Childhood," wrote Patricia Ashby, manager of the AS Child Development Center on campus. "For 20 years she has been a lead teacher at the AS Child Development Center. Over those years she has guided, nurtures and educated over 300 children. She has mentored parents, collaborating and coaching with them to support each child's growth and development. During the last six years she has also taken on the role of mentoring interns and practicum students for the Woodring ECE program. From the many testimonials from parents, students and co-workers she is an invaluable resource and trusted friend to the many lives she touches. As her manager, I value her honest perspective and positive approach to problem solving, and her incredible compassion and support for children and parents."

Do you work with an outstanding colleague at Western Washington University? The Western Way program provides the opportunity for faculty and staff to recognize the great efforts of others on campus.

Any time throughout the year, folks in the WWU community can visit the Western Way website to recognize a Western employee who demonstrates excellence in serving students, visitors or colleagues, based on the characteristics that make them uniquely Western: inviting, engaging, distinctive, collaborative and adventurous.

Western Way honorees are recognized online on the Western Way Wall of Acknowledgment, in Western Today and in a slideshow at the Employee Recognition Ceremony in April.
