Halloween: Ghouls and ghosts rule The Ridge

More than 130 costumed Western Washington University students and 24 resident advisors welcomed about 75 local trick-or-treaters in the Ridgeway University Residences complex last night for Halloween.

All of Ridgeway’s community lounges were decorated in fun, safe, age-appropriate themes aimed at children ages 4-12. Groups of trick-or-treaters were taken, along with their required adult escort, on tours of the complex’s various themed locations, with the total tour taking about 30 minutes to complete; each tour was led by a member of the WWU Residence Life Student staff.

Activities included candy collecting, pumpkin painting, foam-sword duels with Capt. Jack Sparrow, fortune telling, and even a visit to Hogwarts with a chance to sit before its legendary Sorting Hat.
