Employee Wellness Program wins leadership award

The Faculty and Staff Wellness Program at Western Washington University was honored by Seattle Business magazine this week as a 2014 Leader in Health Care.

Western's program was the winner of the Achievement in Health Programs category.

The magazine honored 25 of Washington state’s health care innovators, CEOs, hospitals and other organizations at the sixth Leaders in Health Care Awards dinner Monday, Feb. 24.

Representing WWU at the Seattle dinner were Rich VanDenHul, vice president for Business and Financial Affairs; Chyerl Wolfe-Lee, assistant vice president of Human Resources; Kaylee Nightingale, employee development and wellness administrator; Heather Flaherty, Board of Trustees student representative; Marie Sather, director of Campus Recreation; LeaAnn Martin, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; Linda Keeler, from the Kinesiology/Exercise Psychology program in Physical Education, Health and Recreation; and Richard C. Veith, M.D., chief of Psychiatric Services at the University of Washington Medical Center.
