Dinosaurs to stalk the campus this Saturday as part of CST youth lecture series

Western Washington University’s College of Sciences and Technology will continue its “Wizards @ Western” youth lecture series with “The Secret Lives of Dinosaurs” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, in Science Lecture Hall 110 on the WWU campus.

Recent fossil finds are providing new clues into the lives of dinosaurs; for example, the discovery that many dinosaurs had feathers is making us think of them as more birdlike.  In this presentation, WWU Professor of Geology Thor Hansen will discuss some of these recent findings and how they are providing new insights into dinosaur behavior. He will compare some of these new dinosaurian models with clips from movies like Jurassic Park and the TV show Prehistoric Park.

The lecture is free and open to the public, and is geared toward children in grades 4-8.
