Kuntz to present 'Wrinkles -- Grace in Time' at Firehouse Performing Arts Center in October

Western Washington University’s Dance program instructor Pam Kuntz will present her dance and theatre piece “Wrinkles…Grace in Time” at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10, and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 11, at the Firehouse Performing Arts Center, 1314 Harris Ave., in Fairhaven.

Tickets will be available at the Community Food Co-Op, Village Books, and at the door for $12.

“Wrinkles…Grace in Time” is the fifth of a series of movement-based theatre pieces by Kuntz that explore and celebrate aging through the stories of local community members using movement, music, photography and poetry.

The 60-year age gap between the performers stimulates a powerful exploration of what it means to live during a war, find freedom as a woman, and dance with abandon, Kuntz said.

This year’s performance includes dancers Paige Fredlund and Sarah Schermer and community members Barbara Sylvester, Noemi Ban, Dorothy Regal, Lynnette Allen and Marge Moench.

“The performance reveals what it means to feel young at any age,” Kuntz said.

The dancers will also respond to issues resulting in paralyzing vulnerability and extraordinary strength—issues shared by all of the women in the production, Kuntz said.
