Student Jonah White wins award for best graduate student paper at annual meeting

Jonah White, a graduate student in the Geography program at Western Washington University, won the 2010 Ashok K. Dutt Award for Best Graduate Student Paper at the annual meeting of the Association of American Geographers two weeks ago. The award is given by the Regional Development and Planning Specialty Group of the AAG.

White's paper was titled "Case Studies in Gentrification: Downtown Seattle, 1980-2000." White also was nominated and selected as director of developed countries within the specialty group.
