Employee Wellness to begin morning meditation program

The Employee Wellness Program at Western Washington University plans to offer a free guided morning meditation program with Ronna Biggs on a pilot basis. The meditation is set for 7:30 to 7:50 a.m. Wednesday mornings, May 1 to June 5, in Viking Union Room 714.

There is no cost to participate in this pilot program; attendees may visit one session or all six. There's no need to to register online to attend the class.

The meditation will be facilitated by Western's Ronna Biggs, and participants of all levels of experience with meditation are welcome. The session will begin with a brief guided process to turn attention to mindful breathing and increase mind-body awareness to support physical, emotional and mental well-being. A significant portion of the session will be silent meditation. Participants are welcome to use the seating available in VU714, sit on the floor or bring personal cushions or meditation benches.
