Early bird deadline for summer youth programs is May 15

Western Washington University Youth Programs will hold its 32nd year of educational enrichment and recreational programming for youth in grades K-12 this summer, with programs ranging from science and art exploration to college-prep courses.

Early bird registration is offered for selected programs, with a discount available for those registering by May 15. Western and Olympic College alumni, faculty and staff are also eligible for discounts on selected programs.

In addition to offerings in Bellingham and Anacortes, programs will be offered for the first time on the Kitsap Peninsula through the new Western Washington University Center at Olympic College Poulsbo.

Summer 2014 will feature several new course opportunities, including a College Quest course entitled “Ecology of Local Marine Habitats” and 13 new Odyssey of Science & Arts courses covering design, math, guitar, music technology, Spanish, nature survival and more.

Programs for summer 2014 include:

• College Quest (students entering grades 10-12)
• Global Connections (grades 4-6)
• Grandparents University (ages 7-14)
• Odyssey of Science & Arts (grades 4-9)
• Summer Youth Theatre Institute (entering grades 1-12)
• Western Arts Preparatory Academy (ages 4-7)
• Western Kids Camp (grades K-6)
• WWU Lakewood Jr. Sailing Camp (ages 11-18)
