Critical Junctures Institute at WWU to hold research seminar discussing University of Washington health institute

The Critical Junctures Institute, a collaborative venture between Western Washington University and PeaceHealth/St. Joseph Hospital, is putting on a research seminar from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 22, featuring Laura Mae Baldwin from the University of Washington Department of Family Medicine.

Baldwin will give a lecture titled "The Institute of Translational Health Sciences: Resources and Opportunities for Collaboration." The event is set to take place at the Critical Junctures Institute, located at 625 Cornwall Ave. in downtown Bellingham.

The Institute for Translational Health Sciences at the University of Washington is a National Institutes of Health-funded institute supporting translational research.

After Baldwin's lecture will be an update on the current CJI project "Improved Care for Complex Patients: Strengthening the Medical Home" and a discussion with the visiting lecturer.

The Critical Junctures Institute was founded in 2007 and operates as a program of Western Washington University. The CJI mission is to serve as an innovation, research and learning partner for improving health and advancing health care within Whatcom County and beyond. The CJI Leadership Board is composed of community leaders, stakeholders and sponsor representatives. CJI staff, with advice from the board, work to identify innovative opportunities for change-based health research and education and training that will transform health care and improve community health.
