Western Fall Welcome to bring 1,000 people to campus Saturday

At least a thousand people could be on the Western Washington University campus Saturday, Oct. 24, for Western Fall Welcome, the largest visit program of the quarter from the Office of Admissions.

The event is expected to bring roughly 400 high school students and 600 parents to campus for a day of getting to know Western. With any luck, a lot of those prospective students will end up applying to Western, says Angela Dittmar Gaffney, a WWU admissions counselor.

Student Admissions representatives will be giving guided tours of campus, and residence halls will be open for tours, as well. Various representatives of academic departments, Associated Students clubs, Student Affairs offices and other campus organizations will be around, too, to showcase all that Western has to offer.

The Western Fall Welcome event is done in coordination with Fall Family Open House, a weekend-long event for WWU students and their families.
