The Western Washington University student club MEChA plans to hold a Dia De Los Muertos event on campus from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in Academic Instructional Center West Room 304.

Dia De Los Muertos is a cultural experience much celebrated in Latino culture, says MEChA member Gretchen Dierking, who is helping to organize the event. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to celebrate their ancestors and others who have died, she said.

This event, which will include sugar skull- and altar-making workshops, is free and open to the public.
