Miller Market will be only dining venue open during steam shutdown

The annual steam shutdown will occur on campus Sunday, Aug. 30 to Thursday, Sept. 10. The Whatcom County Health Department requires accessibility to hot running water in restrooms for our customers in order for us to prepare and serve made-to-order food and beverages. During the steam shutdown, all hot running water on campus is turned off.

Miller Market, located on Red Square in its temporary location, will be the only University Dining venue open during this time:

  • It will be open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Grab 'n' Go sandwiches and salads, bagels, muffins, snacks and drip coffee and hot tea are available.
  • Espresso beverages will not be available during the steam shutdown period.
  • If the steam shutdown finishes early, Miller Market will resume full services.

On Monday, Sept. 14, Viking Union food services and Miller Market will be open with regular intersession hours of operation.

Thank you for your continued support of University Dining Services.
