Construction season begins next week

With summer fast approaching and the majority of students leaving campus, Western Washington University's busy construction season begins next week. Numerous public works construction projects will begin June 11 and continue through summer. These projects require the presence of outside contractors, construction equipment and vehicles, associated construction noise, detours to pedestrians, and parking disruptions.

Many on campus already have been contacted directly about these projects. The Office of Facilities Development and Capital Budget will continue to keep campus informed of construction impacts, but there may be times when advanced notice is impossible due to unexpected or emergency situations.

General information on public works projects on the main campus is available on the Western Washington University campus map at http://www.wwu.edu/map. Click on individual buildings to see project information within that building.
Periodic updates that affect campus in general will be announced via WWU Today and MyWestern. Building occupants may also receive occasional e-mail “construction notices” on projects occurring in their particular building.

If you have questions or concerns regarding specific projects, please contact the project manager listed on the campus map building page. For general information about public works projects, please contact Gail Kuromiya at (360) 650-6199 or gail.kuromiya@wwu.edu.
