'Commedia in the Park' continues through July 6

Western Washington University Department of Theatre and Dance presents “Commedia in the Park,” directed by Western Washington University Associate Professor of Theatre Arts Rich Brown, at 7 p.m. July 5 and 6 in Maritime Heritage Park at 500 W. Holly St in Bellingham.

The show, which opened July 4, is open to the public and free to attend.

Presented by WWU Theatre students enrolled in the summer course “Advanced Acting Topics” taught by Brown, “Commedia” is a highly physical, masked comic performance originating from the Italian Renaissance. The show features well-known stock characters such as the tricky servants, young lovers and foolish old men.
