Chu, French present at two Northwest conferences

Marilyn Chu (Elementary Education), Kristen French (Elementary Education), and Barb Yasui, Shoreline Community College, co-presented “Safe Spaces to Learn from our Stories: Early Childhood teachers use the Power of their Classroom Narratives to Explore Cultural Relevancy Issues,” at the Northwest Conference on Teaching for Social Justice held in Portland, Ore., Oct. 2, 2010 and “Busting the ‘Colorbird’ Myth" at the Washington State Association for Multicultural Education held in Seattle, Wash., Oct. 30, 2010.
