Children needed for research on kids' understanding of robots

How do kids understand robots? Are they like a living thing, an object, or somewhere in between?

Western Washington University researchers are inviting 9-year-old boys and girls to participate in a fun study at Western. In a one-hour session, children will get to play with a robot and a puppet, and researchers will ask what they think about each. For helping, children will receive $5 and a “WWU Young Scientist” T-shirt.

Sessions are available on Wednesdays starting at 2:30 p.m. and during the day on Sundays. Parking is provided. For more information or to schedule an appointment, visit http://myweb.facstaff.wwu.edu/seversr/research.htm or call WWU psychology instructor Rachel Severson at 360-650-3539.
