Center for International Studies Director Changes

Douglas Nord announced that he plans to resign from his position as director of the Center for International Studies at Western, effective Sept. 1.

Provost Catherine Riordan thanked Nord for his service and achievements as Center director, including his development of a white paper on international studies, his efforts to internationalize curriculum and his work with community colleges in the region.

Until a permanent replacement for the Center director position is determined, Fairhaven College Dean Roger Gilman will serve as interim director of the Center while also continuing his duties at Fairhaven College. Riordan noted that Gilman has had a strong interest in international studies, back before his arrival at Western.
